Every month Accuform Signs holds an anniversary luncheon to celebrate the number of years of service for employees. It is really a nice break from the business of the day to day work load.
During this specially scheduled day that starts at 9:15 am and rolls through lunch, it proves time well spent with other employees in other departments. Accuform currently has a partnership with the Pasco Hernando Community College and their director of training hosts this monthly event.
Employees celebrating their anniversary that month are treated with a catered lunch. The hand carved ham or roast beef with large shrimp and homemade soups are always a special treat at lunch and the employees are grateful that they're being treated with great service while sitting with the CEO, Wayne Johnson, and President, Dave Johnson.
After lunch, they give a company-wide update on the latest changes and additions in machinery and improved processes that keep Accuform Signs moving forward in this technologically advanced company. It's interesting to note that one of our newest machines recently installed is the very first one in the world! Technicians from Germany were here recently to install and train our employees.
Because we're so customer driven, we feel it's important that employees from different departments take some time in the anniversary luncheon to share who they are with others. We have numerous discussions and personal sharing that takes place to help facilitate bringing employees together. After all, we all must work together as a team to make this manufacturing machine work to capacity.
My 2013 anniversary luncheon took place recently. We broke into four teams and created our Accuform top ten list of “Things that express a positive attitude”. This was a great team building experience and exercise for members of all departments.
